    You need to think of these types of questions as converting a fraction into a percentage. Your fraction can be said to be x/y, and your percentage would be a/100 (a is the unknown number over here)

    x/y = a/100

    The simplest way you can do this is by shifting the fraction around. When you multiply both sides by 100, A (your unknown number) will become 100x divided by the number that substitutes y.
